Re: Flying Phantom Ship BD from Discotek
Skaro Hunting Society fansubbed this a few years ago with your help, right? It's funny how Discotek has licensed so many that Skaro fansubbed in the past.

Re: Manga Release News
Okazaki is one of my faves now, so I'm looking forward to River's Edge. I took out the 2 Vertical books from my local library during the height of the pandemic lockdown. The librarian who handed me the books complimented my good taste. So she has quite an underrated following! Apparently Pink and He...

Re: The old-school anime DVD/BD news thread.
A lot of long older shows are a big time commitment. I usually buy them and stash them because many of the old anime I want tend to go OOP quickly, never to be reprinted again. Sentai's Ideon is one example--I'm glad I bought it just when Amazon was dropping the price for it, before it went out of p...

Oh, I don't think I heard the QC issues are too bad, but the materials used for the transfer were touch and go, so a new HD master was neededDrew_Sutton wrote: ↑Tue May 03, 2022 6:31 pm Oh that's a shame - I have those Sentai BRs, too and likewise, have not watched them yet. Hope the issues aren't too bad.

Re: Which Western novel has the most anime adaptations?
Tough one. I can only think of Anne of Green Gables as being a novel popular enough in Japan to warrant several adaptations

Neat. There’s a lot of stuff in Panda go Panda that was reused in Ponyo, I think

Re: What are you Watching?
About halfway through Daimos. It really is a pretty good show! This is a later days super robot era show so the industry transition to the Gundam era is already hinted here (Zambot 3 also being another precursor super robot show). The enemy side (Barmanians) seem to get much more screen focus than t...

Re: Gall Force - Your thoughts
I recently rewatched the first three Gall Force productions and part one of EArth Chapter. I really like the designs of course. The pacing can be a bit inconsistent. There are stretches where nothing is happening and then good stretches that end too soon. I think Eternal Story is probably still the ...

Re: UY ALLSTARS: New Urusei Yatsura anime on TV in 2022!
Yeah. And at the end of the day Takahashi is a populist and Oshii is more concerned with self expression. Both are valid forms of art, but i can see why Takahashi would dislike Oshii’s tangents.
