Re: Japanese Music - J-Pop, enka, J-Rock, Japanese hip-hop,
I honestly only listen to anime OP/ED songs when it comes to Japanese music, particularly rock music.

Re: J-dramas
I have only watched two: Great Teacher Onizuka and Densha Otoko. I enjoyed them mainly because of their comical nature but Jdramas in general kind of have a soap opera-ish feel to them which I'm not a fan of. My mom and sisters drove me up the wall with their novelas. (Spanish soap operas.)

Re: The Hobbit
I'll definitely be watching day one but I'm kind of disappointed they are making it more than one movie; I'm assuming the climax will be in the sequel.

Re: What are you Watching?
Just watched the first two episodes of AnoHana. Eyes were starting to water up a little and getting a bit emotional so I got too anxious to watch it all at once. I'm starting to get a little verklempt!

Re: Anime Girls: Then and Now
I think that image says a lot more about whoever put it together than it does about the state of Japanese cartoons at any one point in time. It's a broad field. You can find examples of slutty male-gaze anime females from 1970 and wholesome strong females from 2012, or vice versa. I agree. It's eas...

Re: AnimeEigo opinions
They will always hold a special place in my heart. They were one of the first few anime companies, and all of their releases are a labor of love. Besides that, they were a company started by otakus, ran by otakus. They never had the "cutting edge" titles like ADV, but were known for the...

Re: How Much Anime Do You Watch?
I agree with most of the comments made regarding original BBC/2040. The original lacks some of the story details that 2040 offers but I think the original still did a good job developing the characters despite the lack of background story. I think most fans could have probably imagined what the Knig...

Re: How Much Anime Do You Watch?
I just picked up the remastered Bubblegum Crisis set so I'll probably burn through those this weekend. Let us know if there is any audio synch issues with your DVDs. Negative on the audio sync issues; all of the DVDs seemed to work fine. Also, Bubblegum Crisis is awesome - really wish there had bee...
