Re: The Anime Nostalgia Podcast & Blog

Thanks mbanu! Yeah the music in Akira varies for me--some tracks I think work extremely well. Others are....kinda forgetable? But I really so enjoy that main theme from the beginning and end. Great episode, Usamimi! AKIRA was one of my first Cyberpunk anime alongside Ghost in the Shell and Cyber Cit...

Re: The Anime Nostalgia Podcast & Blog

Sorry I've been so quiet lately! I've been sick, but I still somehow managed to get a new podcast episode out today! https://animenostalgia.blogspot.com/201 ... akira.html

Re: Kyoto Animation studio fire

While charitable donations are tax deductible in places like the US, overseas the laws are different and it gets tricky. Supposedly in Japan, Kyoani got special permission from the government to wave many of the taxes on donations towards the fire, but this may not apply to donations from outside Ja...

Re: Kyoto Animation studio fire

I haven't posted any names myself because Kyoani requested names not be shared yet, but some news outlets have been sharing them anyway. Regardless, it's incredibly sad to hear :( I'm sure there'll be more sad news as we learn of all the losses in the future. On a more positive note: Rightstuf has s...

Re: What are you Playing?

I finally stared playing Bloodstained ritual of the night a while back once our KS copy for PS4 came in the mail. I'm enjoying it a lot so far! Tough but not impossible, good voice acting, visuals are pretty cool. I've played several hours and I've barely done a chunk of the castle map, so I expect ...

Re: Kyoto Animation studio fire

It's heartening to see how many cartoon/animation related accounts and folks have commented on what happened. It really has effected fans world wide! I've even seen CNN and The New York Times run pieces on it. CR is taking fan messages as well, that will be passed along to Kyoani: https://www.crunch...

Kyoto Animation studio fire

Sad news today that KyoAni suffered a major tragedy: https://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2019/07/18/national/dozens-injured-fire-kyoto-anime-studio-man-questioned-police/#.XTCRBOhKiUk For those who may not know: KyoAni started as a support studio, mostly staffed by women, & helped with things like SDF...

Re: Harmony Gold Relicenses Macross

It'd be nice, but again probably not something that'd ever happen...I wouldn't even care about extras so much, since even my old manga dvds don't have much on em. But a crisp bluray sure would be nice. Sad my best bet is probably just to import it, along with DYRL.
