Re: The old-school anime DVD/BD news thread.

Discotek Media also tried to get the rights to the Shinzo Ningen Casshan TV series but that didn't happen but will try again later. I never saw the "Mighty Space Miners" but it is on my VHS want list. As for Casshan I would love to see more of that show. What little we did get from Macek/S...

Re: Game Center CX

That show is great, I found out about it after the announcement from the Discotek/Eastern Star DVD set. I have watched a few episodes of the show online and would like to pickup the DVD set at some point. One of the first episodes I watched was the NES Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! challenge, man was tha...

Re: The old-school anime DVD/BD news thread.

Yeah, I really do want to get Totoro on blu-ray, but if you're not super picky on having it in HD or not, it's a pretty good deal. That's how I got "Yamadas" on DVD! XD It's a good deal, since it's not that hard to get Disney Movie points. (I recommend joining anyway, when they released N...

Re: The old-school anime DVD/BD news thread.

Someone told me they went to Costco today and found that they're now selling all of the available Disney Ghibli releases on DVD for $13 apiece. (Even "My Neighbors The Yamadas" and "Pom Poko"!) So if you're looking to get any, I guess now's the perfect time! Also if you are a me...

ah the Dreamcast, so many memoirs. My roommate bought one on launch. I still remember going to the mall to get it and then coming home and playing it. Let it be said that we got to work a little late that day. We played a lot of Bangai-O, ChuChu Rocket!, Crazy Taxi, DDR, Hydro Thunder, Jet Grind Rad...

Re: Anyone else remember "Hook-ups"?

I like the Hook-Ups stickers. My favorite one is the Clockwork Orange designs. I recently found a 2' x 3' vinyl banner of one of the designs in a skate shop at a mall and asked if it was for sale and got turned down :( Remember though that a lot of the early stuff that were direct copies of anime ar...

Re: Guilty Pleasures

greg, I was really into the Powerpuff Girls too. The over all style of the show and nod to old favs really sucked me in. _D_, Johnny Quest was a great show, the opening theme music is classic. That show was a fav of my mothers, so we watched it together. The whole flow of the show was fun a bit of s...
