Re: The old-school anime DVD/BD news thread.

Considering I've had a 'to-watch' pile of stuff going back to the tape days, I try not to let the OOP discs get me down. I think though the only discs I've seen any issues with in my collection were some of my Kimagure Orange Road DVDs that I got when those went out of print back in like 2006/7/8 an...

Re: NEED HELP WITH 90s ANIME TEES

Yeah, I've seen a few folks hunting for vintage T-shirts. I have only been contacted by people who see that I am selling stuff, not like just asking for the shirt off my back, in a photo. But then again, I may not have many photos of me in anime t-shirts. Usually the answer is that those shirts are ...

Re: Animanga Nuzu

I wonder how strict Michigan State is about non-students/faculty using their libraries? I'm never up near Lansing but the next time I end up that way, I'd be up for a road trip to have a look at that (and their copies of Mangajin, Animenonimous (since I don't think it's an issue I have) or Animerica).

Re: NHK Animations X Tokyo Paralympics 2020

Nice to see there are a couple more episodes added.

I wonder, since animation, especially Japanese animation, is very popular in France, we'll see any co-productions or something similar for the Paris games in 2024.

Re: Organizing Your Media And Merch

I've got some posters that I am trying to sell and would probably buy some more to rotate out in the frames we have hanging but yikes, not being familiar with flat file cabinets (I probably used them last in the high school art room twenty years ago), I had a bit of sticker shock and quickly realize...

Oh that's a shame - I have those Sentai BRs, too and likewise, have not watched them yet. Hope the issues aren't too bad.

Re: Gall Force - Your thoughts

I saw a little bit of Gall Force that I wound up finding at an indy video rental shop in the 90s, but I was just randomly watching the couple tapes they had. I wound up getting a bunch of tapes from a forum member here of Gall Force (1,2,3), New Era, Earth Chapter and Rhea. I remember sitting down t...

Re: RIP Guy Brownlee

Sorry for your and to others that were close to Guy, Dave. Guy sounds like the type of fan whose contributions benefited me but we were just in two different places at the same time. I thought there was a general thread somewhere for news and such of this nature but I just see a bunch of individual ...

Re: Macross Plus OVA TONIGHT at AMC Theaters

Yeah, kinda bummed I missed this, too. Like DKop, last anime in cinema I saw was CCA back in 2019. Gonna have to keep my eye out so I can plan better and try to catch another one of these sometime.

Re: What are you Watching?

Crusher Joe movie—Finally watched this. There’s an opinion out there that the OVAs are better. I get that, but i think i like the movie better despite some hitches in the pacing and scene transitions. It has a romanticism and grandness to it that the OVAs lack. I like the film better, too, pretty m...
