Re: Heyas!
Ah, so cool you got to see stuff on TV in Hawaii. Back in the 90s I had some penpals that lived in Hawaii, and they'd occasionally send me tapes of stuff they recorded off of TV--that was my first exposure to Crayon Shin-chan! Oh yeah! I used to watch Crayon Shin-chan on KIKU TV with my little sist...

Re: What are you Watching?
I've only seen the first JoJo episode, with the water in the desert. That was one super intense episode! The way that they were all hiding on top of the crates so as not to be detected when they touched the sand. Amazing. That episode reminded of the Tremors movie! Same situation in the desert and ...

Re: 1994
1994 was memorable year for me. I was 10 years old. It was the year my family on my dad's side had a family reunion. My dad had 10 brothers and sisters so it was a big family, even bigger now. The reunion was in Orlando where most of my dad's family live. Half of the family was in the military the o...

Anime Studios Behind the Scenes
I love watching behind the scenes videos! Whether it's a movie, tv show, animation, or comics. I like seeing the production process in great detail. Especially the studio tours, and production diaries I enjoy. I haven't had much luck finding material like this for anime, especially anime from the 90...

Re: Anyone ever used the anipike?
Oh wow, animpike. I was never an active particpant to the site, but I definitely came across it looking for anime online, and used the directory. Too bad the site is down, I'm hazy on what it looked like. Would've been neat to get a little blast from the past. Ah...the AOL online days...

Re: What are you Watching?
I found the 999 dub on YouTube. Somebody had uploaded it. I figured it was from the '80s, but it probably was the Viz version, from what llj says. I remember watching the Viz dubbed Fatal Fury OVAs. They were the only versions I could rent. The first was alright, but the second one was more fun bec...

Re: What are you Watching?
Just watched the Jojo's Bizarre Adventure OVA (1993). I've seen an episode a few years ago, but this was the first time watched the entire thing. Man was it right up my alley! The art style, the animation, the action, the story, the characters! The scene where the water Stand in the cantine sucked t...

Re: Pacific Rim doesn't take off in Japan
Another note on Pacific Rim. After watching it for the second time on Blu-ray I still enjoyed it, but like with many CG movies today, I thought it was really cool, but I'm basically watching a 3D animated movie. Which I have nothing against, but I miss actual real live mechanics! I haven't seen the ...

Re: Pacific Rim doesn't take off in Japan
Pacific Rim was really cool to watch in all it's big budget cinema popcorn glory. Being a big fan of Robot Jox I set the bar pretty high for standards(just kidding...a little bit, I love Robot Jox). I was happy with the Super Robot, Monster, elements put into the movie. Nothing really groundbreaking...

Re: Watch Japanese TV live!
Aww, it's no longer available. These things always get taken down eventually. I've been doing my best to catch and find NHK World shows especially Tokyo Eye and Lunch On. There used to be a show on in the 90's on KIKU tv in Hawaii similar to these shows. I think I remember it being called, "See...
