Re: The Anime of Yesteryear Blog/Podcast

What better way to celebrate Mothers Day than to post up a series that we haven't touched in 3 years. The next round of Takahashi v. Tomino is up with Aura Battler Dunbine and Panzer World Galiant! https://aoypodcast.com/2019/05/12/aoy-podcast-141-takahasahi-vs-tomino-round-5-aura-battler-dunbine-pa...

Re: The Anime of Yesteryear Blog/Podcast

Finally got around to listening to the Gundam NT portion of the podcast - it sounds like your review of it is similar to what I heard other people talking about on the Internet - it's a weirdly paced mess and is otherwise un-notable in an expanding mid-late UC canon. It seems like everyone is waiti...

Re: Anime North 2019

the topic of Japanese comics based on Western properties would probably be a great panel topic by itself; Shigeru Mizuki drew Plastic Man manga, Takao Saito did James Bond manga, Jiro Kuwata famously drew Batman, I'm sure there have been dozens if not hundreds of iterations of American characters d...

Re: WTB: Anime T-shirts from the 90's and earlier

That's why im interested in the ARTMIC and BGC shirt since they are the most creative to wear than a screen print from a poster or DVD cover. They did the Priss Replicants poster that I bought from them a while ago because its such a badass poster, and it looks like they did some correcting to make ...

Re: WTB: Anime T-shirts from the 90's and earlier

The Vintage Reborn site is having a month long special on shirts, and i've already dipped in getting the BGC shirt they have. I'm gonna hold out till the end of the month to get the black and gold ARTMIC if they don't sell out by then. https://vintagereborn.bigcartel.com/ https://assets.bigcartel.co...

Re: An index of prominent figures in the early anime fandom?

Tim is "the" Star Blazers/Yamato guy. He runs https://www.ourstarblazers.com/ as the main site for anything and everything Star Blazers/Yamato material. He's done a documentary that can be found here all about Yamato fandom: https://www.amazon.com/Space-Battleship-Yamato-Making-Legend/dp/B0009QTS08 ...

Re: An index of prominent figures in the early anime fandom?

Well it goes without saying that the French love Matsumoto works and are inspired by them, like Interstella 5555, the animated movie tied to Daft Punk "Discovery" album back in 2001. It's really an animated rock opera to electronic music, and tells a solid story that I own and enjoy after all these ...

I think adding that info on the Bluray shouldn't be too much trouble, I can let Robert know about it.

Although, I wouldn't miss the incursions by furries or disjunctive cosplayers.
Pretty sure you'll get that at anime cons anywhere, because I see them at about any anime/fan con I attend. It's just the nature of the best of fandom.
