Re: Harmony Gold Relicenses Macross

The thing is id rather get a really good Bluray release on Macross Plus than a crapped-out-in-an-afternoon release from Starz. I got 2nd GIG on Bluray and the menu is sort of barebones with really no extras, and they pushed that off as a Manga release on the sleeve. You give Macross Plus to say Disc...

Re: Harmony Gold Relicenses Macross

I wonder if the Earthquake that happened that same weekend is related to the news, kinda like even God is against this renewal. :o Justin Sevakis pointed this out on Twitter that its not so much HG but Big West issue on not getting this show licensed. I'm not sure how much truth is in that but maybe...

Re: The Anime Nostalgia Podcast & Blog

Was this travel restriction still in effect when Tezuka went to SDCC in the late 70's/Early 80's, along with him and Monkey Punch?

Re: So about those Megazone 23 sequel/remakes

With AnimEigo going to be releasing Megazone 23 next through the Kickstarter Campaign, maybe there's a way to get these out with those original OVA's. I think things are set in stone for the original ones, so if anything another company like Maiden Japan or RightStuf could release those in the future.

Re: Was Randall Stukey representative to anything?

Anime Hell is an event I started doing at DragonCon as the name for the midnight shift in the anime room. The first Anime Hell at AWA was in 1997, so I guess 1996 was the last DragonCon Anime Hell. Other conventions I've done Anime Hell at are Animazement, Anime Central, Sugoicon, Anime Next, Anime...

Evangelion coming to the world of Funko Pop

So it looks like Eva will continue to be that golden calf for Gainax by being part of the funko pop family. Interesting enough I just sold my Spike Speigel pop online and thought id be done with them, guess not. I gotta wonder how many Tiffany Grant will buy? https://www.funkofunatic.com/viewtopic.p...

Re: Data on Convention Sizes

I'm wondering if they're pulling the data on Comiket from the main one in the summer and not including the winter one. But I wonder if you combine both attendance to those what the actual number might be. I feel like the data they have is just from one event. I feel like AWA needs to be up there, it...

Re: pages from C/FO Magazine V2 #3

I gotta wonder if Tim Eldred might ever translate that The Man who made Space Battleship Yamato ~ The Madness of Yoshinobu Nishizaki book or some sort of english adaptation will come out about that. I'd love to give that a read. I enjoy biography books (since I still got Console Wars to read after 5...

Re: pages from C/FO Magazine V2 #3

I think at Nishizaki worst, he's a meak Tony Montana of the anime industry, based on what i'm seeing. Making an exploitation documentary on this man life would be a phenomenal piece of cinema to see. Or just recut Scarface and replace Al Pachino with The Nish, solid film. I mean his weaponry d...
