Re: Evangelion coming to Netflix! Spring 2019!

This would be the first dub I'd look forward to viewing in a while, but only if they get Cardi B to dub one of the female characters. She'd make for a fun Asuka.

Re: Anime T-shirts and Merch from the 90's and earlier

I have a couple of Sailor Moon shirts still in unworn condition from the 1990s. There was one particular one of Chibiusa that I loved from back then since, unlike the rest of the SM shirts, it was drawn well. I had a couple of anime shirts that I wore with great frequency in the 1990s (a couple of D...

Re: Japan Travel Suggestions?

By the way, how'd you get around in less urban areas? I'd have to rely entirely on public transport because I don't know how to drive, so I was wondering if I had to be concerned at all about public transport accessibility in such areas. There are buses in more remote areas of Japan. Kyoto also has...

Re: Older fans – what is your take on anime and anime fandom today?

My best friend returned from attending Comiket all 3 days, and there is still a lot of 'older' series there. He's still pretty stoked about his Haruhi Suzumiya doujinshi. What do you like/dislike about anime fandom at present? How has it changed and what do you miss? I hate how corporate conventions...

Re: Japan Travel Suggestions?

I was last there in October. Cels have pretty much dried up, even at Nakano Broadway. There's Mandarake with a handful of cheap rando 1000 yen and under cels for sale and twin_angel's shop across from it, but it was very much dead. TA had lots of douga and only a small selection of cels. Once Mainla...

Re: How did you discover anime?

What I wouldn't do to get my hands on some $2 manga today haha Half Price Books is your friend. They even have $1 manga sometimes in the discount section. If you don't live anywhere near one and are in the US, I can send you some manga from there. Media mail is awesomely cheap. For me, the first an...

Reddit

Does anyone else like going to the r/BoneAppleTea reddit forum to see how people misspell anime/manga concepts? Found this one today - https://www.reddit.com/r/BoneAppleTea/comments/acv0mw/legit_on_too_nammy/ I can never call this series by its proper name again. Also I'm seriously hoping that a sei...

Re: Did the Pokemon boom affected you?

OMG fun fact: the ONLY time I ever got an entire anime club screening room to be absolutely quiet was when I got a fansub of the first Pokemon movie & did a showing of it a week before the American version hit theaters. I don't blame them. The first two Pokémon movies were quite different in their ...

Re: Anime shirts

I don't know, I've never really shopped for any anime related clothing before. Especially with my budget, I can't really go out and blow a lot of money on shirts. And finding shirts with anything other than Sailor Moon or Dragon Ball in stores is really rare. Totally recommend hitting the Hot Topic...
