My summer plans...

While still doing some work from home, I have enough set up to spend more time on other things. I happened to notice that my 'anime' folder has no fewer than 4,965 files/episodes in it, many I have never seen. As I have mentioned elsewhere, I have issues that tend to trip me up over actually watchin...

Re: How big was Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs?

I can only speak for myself, but I had never heard of this show before. I watched the intro on youtube and confirmed that I had never heard of it. My wife hadn't heard of it, but upon watching the intro confirmed she remembered it existing, but she never watched it.
I hope that helps? =)

Re: What ettiquette was there in the days of Usenet?

One comment to add, was 'back in the day', every time you posted on Usenet, a warning popped up saying that it would cost 'hundreds, if not thousands of dollars' for the post to be sent out across the world. Ah, quick search pulled it up: "This program posts news to thousands of machines throughout ...

Re: Japanimation Association of Michigan?

Since the leaflet mentioned Zeta Gundam, I would like to ask about how well-known and well-watched Gundam was before Wing Gundam was aired on TV? I understood that there were fan-sub of 0079 and Zeta Gundam in the 1980s, weren't them? Point of order. The ad mentions Gundam Double Zeta, aka ZZ Gunda...

Re: Your memories of anime theatrical release?

Actual theater? Hmmm... not at a convention but an actual movie theater? It would almost certainly be Mononoke-hime. It was a sold out theater, but actually theater sized, and we had to go a ways for a theater that showed it.. Off the top of my head, I would think that most anime I have seen in an a...

Re: A-Kon 1997 report

Reading this report makes me want to ask: How big and active were the Trekkies before the 2000s? You makes it sounds like Star Trek is somekind of common language of nerds. Basically, from the sixties and seventies, Star Trek was -the- common point for science fiction fans. Yes, there were people t...

Dragon's Lair

Somewhere between anime and video games.... Dragon's Lair ^_^ I have always had a fond recollection if it.. when my daughter had us watching Stranger Things and the characters were running for as many quarters I correctly predicted that they were headed to the Dragon's Lair. Anyway, apparently they ...
