Re: What are you Watching?
Yeah, that assessment of Your Name vs Weathering with You feels about right to me. I was able to connect with YN despite not being a teenager or the target demographic, and couldn't get enough of it in theaters. It was a fun ride from start to finish. I saw Weathering with You just once, and while i...

Thanks for the heads up!
I sent them a message, and should be getting one of the tapes soon that was missing from my collection.

The name that came to mind for this was "Sunset Mirage":

https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2020-10-12/kimagure-orange-road-creator-izumi-matsumoto-passes-away/.165131 This was such sad news to read tonight. Re: The Anime Nostalgia Podcast & Blog
Wow- Congratulations! I read over the post and you did a nice job of introducing the appeal of Maison Ikkoku to a younger audience. It's always quite something to be a fan for so long, and then be hired by the company to do something related to it.

Re: A-Kon 1997 report
Trekkies practically invented fandom as we know it today. Fanzines, fanfiction, large-scale science fiction conventions, etc. were all spearheaded by them. In the Next Generation era, they were also very prominent on BBSes, Usenet and the like. I'm sure Dave can go into more detail, but Star Trek is...

Re: What ettiquette was there in the days of Usenet?
Disclaimer: My era of anime fandom is from geocities/angelfire/*insert other web host here* sites, so I never went on Usenet back in the day. However, I still think I can give some insight on how it was, until someone a tad older than me posts here and gives their two cents. My impression is that wh...

Re: How have the drawings changed over the years?
The most apparent difference is anime is no longer made with hand-painted animation cels - Although, I believe modern model sheets and initial frames are still drawn traditionally on paper, the coloring process is all digital. Lighting effects can also be added digitally now. But as far as style is ...
