I recently watched BLAME which was interesting.
I'm now watching Toyko OVERRIDE, which has lots of action and has some interesting concepts going on, with several sub plots.

Re: WTB VHS/SVHS Fansubs and official VHS
I have a lot of old anime translated and non-translated I'd be willing to part with in VHS Format.

Re: When did American anime fandom and Japanese import game fandom come together?
It was actually earlier than that. Some people (like Wvern's Web or Kimono My House) were importing anime (untranslated, since that was all there was) in the mid to late 1980s. That seems to line up with my memory of when I originally bought the VHS tapes for GB 1 and M1.

Re: Prominance of Beta in Anime Tape Trading
Thanks for answering - interesting to see that tape trading was almost always a VHS affair here, even in the 80s when I suspected there was a bit more parity between the two formats. There was never really "parity" between the formats. Beta was pushed as a better reproduction option, but ...

Re: What are you Watching?
I'm now half way through ANOTHER Evangelion movie on Amazon which apparently is the 4th.
It's in english (ugh - I'll take subtitled anyday) and seems to be some fresh material. I just say Rei explode by the way, head first. That's a new one.

Re: What are you Watching?
I've been watching Neon Genesis Evangelion. It certainly was interesting with the really weird looking "Angels" who were attacking.
A bit too much youth drama for my liking, but I got through the whole show.
I think I liked Cowboy BeBop (Live Action) better.

There are trailblazers in every field.
Did the convention go well? It would depend on who you asked.
I've attended dozens of conventions. Some were run better than others.
They all shared the same love of the subject.

Re: Live Action Robotech - Not Dead?
Ugh. I worry about stuff like this.
Tobey McGuire as Rick Hunter? NOPE. That would be awful.
This needs some fresh face - the Tom Cruise from Risky Business of 2022.
I agree, the CGI changes to bring back the dead are creepy. Who thought Governor Tarkin looked good? He looked plastic.
