Re: Alita: Battle Angel delayed to Dec '18

Somehow, I have forgotten about the Mars series and had no idea it was 9 volumes now!

Re: The Top 25 Japanese RPG's

Playing Dragon Quest III in Japanese was a nightmare and turned me off RPGs until I started playing MOTHER. I still don't play many. I never finished FF9 and I'm in the middle of several current games. I guess I'm just not a finisher.

Fullmetal manga podcast

Hey guys. I have another thing to plug. I'm just a plugging fool, I guess. For the past few years, Tim Young of Deconstructing Comics and myself have been podcasting about the Fullmetal Alchemist manga chapter by chapter. Our podcast is called The Law of Equivalent Exchange and in it Tim talks about...

The lonely wail of unfinished models...

I have a Gunpla from the recent Witch Gundam series that is waiting impatiently for me to detail it and put it together with its companion that my wife already finished months ago... Also on my shelf are unfinished episode 7 Millenium Falcon, and not even started Eva 01, a Yamato, a Tetsujin 28, a M...

Re: Anyone here read American or European comics?

I saw Valerian and liked it all right. I don't think it was anything special, but it hit the notes for me as a popcorn movie. If you have an amazon account, get the e-book for the first Valerian compilation. Valerian Volume 1: City of Shifting Waters, is still available for $0.00. It can't hurt to ...

Re: Anyone here read American or European comics?

I got the French and English versions of Valerian thinking I would use it to study French. My favorite BD artists are Kerascoët (a male-female duo) who work with various writers. Miss Don't Touch Me was quite brilliant. I got to meet them at an international comics event in Tokyo several years ago.

Have a good one! I'll try to peek in now and then between New Year's day obligations.

Re: Alita: Battle Angel delayed to Dec '18

Thanks for this! GUNNM (Alita) was one of my top three manga for the longest time. It's one of those rare beasts that starts out looking like one thing (a cyborg battle manga) and morphs into another (a philosophical treatise on identity). I have the follow up series GUNNM: Last Order, but I just ca...
