Re: What did old-school fans think about digital fansubs?

I'm with you - the preservation game is strong, though right now I am not sure I am preserving too much beyond my own sentiments and nostalgia. I mostly agree that companies aren't really up for straight-up preservation, at least for preservation's sake, unless they can make some money off of it. I...

anne of green gables at Let's Anime

finally finished a new Let's Anime all about the 1979 Anne Of Green Gables series from Nippon Animation - you know, the one Isao Takahata directed and that Hayao Miyazaki did layouts on for 15 episodes, the one unavailable in Canada, that's the one - and you can read it here! https://letsanime.blogs...

VHS trading and fansubs in the modern era: Anime Herald

Anime Herald looks at the history of VHS fansubs in North America, and how the scene survives and thrives in the modern era! Re: RIP AWO In Memoriam project

I did record a segment about Derek Wakefield - it turned out to be a bit longer than seven minutes, so maybe my estimation of 2-3 min was a little on the short side. Anyway, I sent it in to AWO and I encourage anyone who has someone they'd like to remember to do the same!

Re: So... that was Attack on Titan...

I recall hearing those murmurs about the right wing propaganda a while back, it really freaked me and actually caused me to step back from watching for a bit...but I guess with the way things unfolded in the story I could see how people would conclude that but... There was so much more going on. In...

RIP AWO In Memoriam project

If you listened to the latest Anime World Order (https://www.awopodcast.com) podcast, you might have noticed Daryl mention a thing that Walter Amos and myself started talking about on NYE, the idea of doing an "In Memoriam" segment of the show in which anime fans who are no longer with us ...

Re: ANN article on Classic Shoujo I'd love to see get licensed

Thanks for the Honey Honey shout-out, it would be great to see that get some kind of a release. I think the big challenge is convincing anyone in charge that it's worth even the pittance it would cost to license the show, but hope spring eternal.
