Re: NEED HELP WITH 90s ANIME TEES

the old shirts I have? I literally wore them until they fell apart. There's a "Captain Herlock" (!) shirt that survived the ocean, car wrecks, more conventions than I can count, and it has weird stainy patches from sitting in the bottom of a cardboard box for years, but I'd never part with...

Re: dubs time forgot??? twitch event

I'm going to be showing TV episodes of dubbed anime from the 60s, 70s and 80s. There are name changes, celebrity voice impressions, and general brain-addled confusion-type voice characterizations, and if this is the kind of thing you find entertaining, then by all means this is for you! Apart from o...

dubs time forgot??? twitch event

I figured it was time I did a streaming anime thing, so Monday May 23 (which is Victoria Day here, what they call the "May 2-4 weekend" because we get that Monday off) I'm doing a Dubs Time Forgot streaming event! I'm going to screen some full episodes of kooky old forgotten dubs and talk ...

Re: NEED HELP WITH 90s ANIME TEES

so are vintage t-shirts the latest "investment collectible" that people are determined to get in on the ground floor of? I've been hearing from a lot of my friends that they've been getting all kinds of ludicrous offers for old anime shirts they happen to be seen wearing in social media po...

Re: Article on the fonts of Fanta's Zine

Great to see that early issue of Fanta's Zine. I believe Patten was using an IBM Selectric, a model which had several different typefaces. I do believe other members created their own submissions, APA style - in the early and mid 1980s, desktop publishing pretty much meant the text was produced usin...

Re: Which Western novel has the most anime adaptations?

There have been four anime Little Womens, three anime Treasure Islands, a couple of anime Nobody's Boys, two anime Daddy Longlegs, several anime Wizard Of Oz's, I think there are three different Japanese Moomin series, and three anime Puss In Boots movies, though only one is based on the fairy tale....

Re: What caused the C/FO to fall apart?

Randall Stukey (it's "Stukey", not "Stuckey", Stuckey's is a chain of roadside gift shops) was a member of, and I believe the editor of, an APA titled "APA Hasshin". This APA had nothing to do with the Anime Hasshin fan club, which was run by a completely different pers...

Re: Organizing Your Media And Merch

we have a flat file that barely fits into our front room, and it's great for posters and artwork. I had to rent a truck to get it home, but it was worth it, I think.

Re: Organizing Your Media And Merch

most of my DVDs and BRs are in some media shelves that Ikea discontinued pretty much the minute after we bought ours, which is a pain. There's some overflow onto some similar shelving. I keep all my DVDs/BRs - movies, TV shows, anime, whatever - all together sorted alphabetically. There's one displa...
