Re: Sega Saturn Love

I have a lot of old Dreamcast parts since the arcade (now gone, alas) used Dreamcasts in many knock off cases for many old arcade games. My bud (who passed away a few years back) gave me a big box full of parts. I have a working Dreamcast, controllers, light guns, keyboard, etc. just sitting here co...

Re: All Your Cels Belong to Japan

...and to think I could have had original Jack Kirby artwork from his inker Mike Royer back in 1980 if i had but given up my old VHS tapes of Dr. Who. But who knew the series would become as popular as it did? Not me. At the time, the show aired only once and the episodes I had from Canadian airings...

Re: All Your Cels Belong to Japan

^ I don't think they're interested in buying signed goods. What they want is the primo stuff, like really nice hanken cels (artwork used for VHS/DVD covers and other commercial goods), complete key set-ups with matching backgrounds and fully colored, hand drawn sketches. They want the Ghibli and Ev...

Re: All Your Cels Belong to Japan

Sorry, not selling my signed, limited edition Shigeru Mizuki English language book back to the Japanese. That was given to me as a gift from both Mizuki and Yoshihiro Yonezawa who was attending the same convention...

Re: KIKU's "Hawaii subs"

Just noticed (via posted YouTube videos) that the TV version of Zatoichi was also subbed. It's a good series and very much in keeping with the spirit of the films. It also stars Shintaro Katsu who played Ichi in the films...

Lots of old school wrestling on YouTube these days as well as all the shoot interviews. Jim Cornette is a hoot! Check them out if you aren't already...

Re: Relating to younger fans...

re: older fans. There are a few of us older scfi, comic and media fans but no formal group was ever formed. We all know each other anyway. I drop in to see people almost every week so we keep in touch a lot. But I've lost track of a lot of people outside this area especially after my mother passed a...

Re: Relating to younger fans...

That would be good but I lack the funds anymore to do bigger cons without going into debt which has become a no-no in my book. But trying to get the local organizers to get SOMETHING on the program for older fans is like pulling teeth. I did get to see such notables like Walter Koenig at a con a few...

Re: KIKU's "Hawaii subs"

I have subbed tapes of various series like Kamen Rider V3 and Kidaider from Hawaiian TV. But those are also out on DVD from this outfit: https://generationkikaida.com/ I have to review my tapes though as Oceanic Pay TV broadcast a lot of stuff in Hawaii in the 80s and 90s. Would love to find out wha...

Re: Relating to younger fans...

Ever go to a "guess this series' event and find no series older than the past 15 years or so? I've had that pleasure at local anime cons. The media con I attended was well represented by things I have no interest in like anime Cosplay. I tried to think of this as a masquerade from a scifi con b...
