Re: Have you abandoned physical media to watch your anime?

You know, I even checked there before I hit post, but for some reason I was only finding every other Gundam ever made after it.

Does crunchyroll restrict their streaming by "region"?

Re: Have you abandoned physical media to watch your anime?

I like being able to rewatch things if I liked them enough to spend money on watching the entire series. When I think about the tapes I have of things that never made it to DVD or shows that I had on DVD and lost due to several moves that are no longer available in physical or streaming media, I am ...

Re: What are you Watching?

I've been rewatching stuff I haven't watched in a while. Couple nights ago, it was Patlabor 2 and last night I watched Bubblegum Crisis . I was reminded constantly how modern technology has that love/hate relationship with creativity. These days, the animation is better but the animators are worse. ...

Re: Latest Acquisition

Just got the brand new release of Kurama. I love it when they do new releases of characters from anime most people don't remember (keep in mind, this board is not typical of "most people") It is part of Kotobukiya's ARTFX J line, "bringing classic Japanese characters to their fans wor...

Re: What are you Watching?

Finally got around to checking out "Jinrui was Suitai Shimashita"/"Humanity has Declined" because I keep seeing it advertised in magazines. I was expecting it to be something about the struggle with humanity and fairies getting along, plus some moe thrown in and silly antics... b...

Re: is fandom hazardous to your health?

I just spent a year in Korea, where if you order "diet coke" or "coke lite" at a restaurant you end up with a coke zero, plus it's at all the convenience stores, so it seems to have taken root there at least. I also see it at stores in my area of Japan, but maybe it's more popula...

Re: is fandom hazardous to your health?

Actually though, now that I am back and living and actually working in Japan again, I've noticed more overweight people these days than I remember seeing 10 years ago. This goes for the teachers as well as the students. I've noticed it, too. From 5 years ago when I left and now, the portions have g...

Re: Forum get-togethers.

I want to go to Tokyo, but will be busy probably until sometime next year. I haven't been to Akiba and such since I went to comic market in 2008.. also took a trip to Osaka, Nara, and even Hinamizawa (aka Shirakawa) to pray at Rika's shrine. They had so many of those wood omikuji with drawings of he...

Re: Gunso's intro

Welcome to the forum. Misawa does have a nice base though. Was turned down when I applied for a Job at Yokota Airbase. Yep, lots going on at Misawa Airbase, but Yokota being in the Tokyo area, it's harder to get stationed there since it's more popular. All the people with connections get there firs...

Gunso's intro

Hi, Gunso here. I just stumbled across this board looking for other old anime information and thought it looked like an interesting place to hang out. I have been full on otaku for close to two decades now, but wish I had sooner. Going back as far as I can recall, I remember thinking there was somet...
