Re: Alita: Battle Angel release..

The general consensus I've heard is that it's not boring, but generally a shallow and messy action movie. Which is about the best you could have expected. It's a shame Cameron couldn't direct this, would have liked to see how he would have done it. Although a 3-4 hour Alita might have been a little ...

Re: What are you Watching?

Night is Short, Walk on Girl --I watched this in 3 sessions spread out across 2 days. My initial impression of this is favorable. The art design is bold and clever as to be expected from Masaaki Yuasa. The structure is unique. It's probably more clever and quirky than funny, though. Very arthouse c...

Re: What are you Watching?

Finished Psycho Pass s1. Liked it. A nice post-cyberpunk fix for those who miss GITS: SAC. I liked this show a lot, though I heard it goes downhill in season 2 cuz the original show runner left? So I've never seen the rest lol. I'll be moving on to the movie and S2 next so I guess I'll have to see ...

Re: What are you Watching?

Finally watching Space Dandy. Great animation and design...but I must say some episodes my focus tends to drift. It's largely a comedy, so if the joke and setups are good, it rocks. When it doesn't, the episodes just sort of slip from your mind.

Re: How to create an environment encouraging science fictions?

There's also the fact that Science Fiction is seen as being a subversive genre, and many of the more authoritarian nations either actively prevented the genre or encouraged fantasy/historical fiction to continue establishing traditional ideas and culture. At least that's how I perceive it to be with...

And update on this: Maiden Japan has cancelled the Ideon release for December, but it's to instead do an HD bluray release of it! So it's not coming out in December as originally planned, but it will later. :D
Ah, nice. They answered my first few posts' wishes.

Re: Did the Pokemon boom affected you?

Yes, my younger sister was into it and played the original Game Boy games (so did I). So I watched the anime and got a little into it. I was just starting college at the time.
