Re: The Anime Nostalgia Podcast & Blog

Great job on the podcast usamimi! I'm a little late to the party, but finally had a chance to listen these and thoroughly enjoyed them! I'm really looking forward to more episodes, keep up the great work! :D

Re: The Manga Recommendations Thread

I haven't been reading too much manga lately, but I have been enjoying Jaco the Galactic Patrolman, the latest creation from the mind of Akira Toriyama. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys Toriyama's work! You can get it pretty easily in print or digital format from Viz. There aren't any collected v...

Re: Fanpages - an internal dilemma

I also miss fan pages! I'd love to see them make a comeback...but it would be so much more difficult than it used to be. I remember searching for DragonBall websites in the nineties, and the majority of results I'd come across (by a wide margin) were fan pages. Now, you have to seek those pages out ...

Re: Question about Dragon Ball: The Magic Begins

I don't know Chinese, but through Japanese language study I can read some of the characters. The Chinese name for the Dragonball series is 七龍珠, which you can see in the title of the live action movie. The thing is, 珠's most basic meaning is not "ball", but rather "pearl," and, by extension, it can ...

Re: Question about Dragon Ball: The Magic Begins

Wasn't that the Korean film? No, the Korean film is Ssawora Son Goku, Igyeora Son Goku. To my knowledge, it has not received any sort of release in the United States. I'm familiar with the Taiwanese live-action Dragonball film, but the only print I ever saw of it - well, okay, I've never seen the e...

Question about Dragon Ball: The Magic Begins

Curiosity has gotten the best of me lately, and I've been attempting to watch all of the various live action Dragon Ball films! With the right mindset, it's not nearly as bad as you might think  However, I've run across a tidbit of information that I cannot seem to confirm. I'm not sure if this...

Re: Kame-Sen'nin's For Sale/Trade Thread

They are "Cardz", a short-lived phenomenon of trading card-sized CD-Roms. They were usually used for promotional material; the set that I most remember was used to promote Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. Surprisingly, they still loaded up and ran just fine on my PC! They are indeed North American...

My copy of Ni No Kuni (PS3) came in, I can't wait to sit down and play.
