Welcome to the board, Valand!

Hearing people describe anime post 2000 as "old school" is just infuriating. Come on fellas, if that anime's not old enough to buy liquor, it's not "old school".
So Harlock can get his Wine all legal like ^_^

Re: Seven Seas licenses the original SPACE BATTLESHIP YAMATO!

Wow. Hm. I think that I should go thru what I have and haven't seen/obtained and what exists and make a list. I think I also need to make some sort of way to e-mail myself on a time delay to remind myself when these come around....

Re: Manga on Jeopardy!

I had my wife (who was in anime back in the day as well) and daughter (who is oddly not into anime at all :~( ) do these. My daughter got 2/5 (Sailor Moon and Astro Boy) and my wife got 3/4 (She also got Speed Racer. She recognized Attack on Titan after mentioning it, and had heard of Lone Wolf and ...

Huh. Thank you for reminding me of Patricia Munson-Siter, hers is a name I had not thought of for a while. I liked the books that she made back in the day to help people understand certain series, and I think that I have some of her art work in storage.

Re: Trailer up for IG's LOTGH

To repeat... yes, it looks like the same but... I have no problem with more. I have gotten the translated novels as available, I still have copies of the subs from when they were available, I still have the Taiwan dvd's... a few cells.. Yeah, I will see this as soon as I can as well. Now, if only I ...

Re: Anyone here read American or European comics?

I saw Valerian and liked it all right. I don't think it was anything special, but it hit the notes for me as a popcorn movie. If you have an amazon account, get the e-book for the first Valerian compilation. Valerian Volume 1: City of Shifting Waters, is still available for $0.00. It can't hurt to ...

Re: Mushi Pro Best Series Let's Anime

thanks for the compliments! I think a compilation tape of stuff from the past 20 years would look like "moe blob, bad remake, moe blob, moe blob, moe blob, FLOWERS OF EVIL, moe blob, bad remake, moe blob, CRAZY TRIGGER STUFF, moe blob, etc" There are interesting things being done but they are surro...

Re: New Daicon III & IV LD Rip

Since this was something I knew about before I cared about old anime, I assumed that most anime fans at school were aware of the Daicon III & IV openings but it didn't take me long to find out that I was sorely mistaken. Ah yes.. I also suffer from the problem in that I presume that if -I- know som...

Re: Anyone here read American or European comics?

So, the Valerian movie didn't do so well (I enjoyed it all the same... even if they ramped up sexual tension and cut the ages of the main characters in half ..or a third). Still, hearing about the movie lead me to pick up 3 of the translations of the French comics from the 1970s... so I am grateful ...
