Re: Anime laserdisc collecting?

^^ Hey, can some mod get rid of that, that wasn't the right images. Ok, trying this again... Nice collection! I've been wanting to track down those Moldiver LDs. I recently picked up a still sealed copy of Vampire Hunter D on laserdisc (Streamline dub) and the first two episodes of You're Under Arr...

Re: What are you Watching?

It did the one thing well that I was expecting it to do well on, and that was the visuals and recreating scenes from the Oshii film. I was pretty content with that. But for me, it's still far from the worst animated to live action adaptations that I remember seeing in the past. The visuals were imp...

Re: What are you Reading?

I've been reading the Patlabor manga, which I'm finding extremely enjoyable. It's interesting that every Patlabor series introduces the characters differently. I've also been reading a newer manga, Freezing. I liked the anime, and the manga is fun too. It also helps that they're being released in an...

Re: What are you Watching?

I've been re-watching Ghost in the Shell: SAC 2nd GIG. Even better than I remember it, and more enjoyable than the first season. I love the episodes that focus on the Section 9 characters and their backstories, since so many of them were overlooked in the previous season...not to mention the origina...

Re: Anyone here read American or European comics?

The Clone Saga is where Marvel really started to jump the shark in the 90s. I always cite the Clone Saga as the exact spot where I fell off the Marvel train. And from there it just went from bad to worse. Before the Clone Saga, I had really been enjoying the Spider-Man comics, even the Maximum Carn...

Re: Anyone here read American or European comics?

A new comic shop opened up a few months back, and they have tons of back issues for $1 each. So I've been buying up a ton of Captain America issues from the late '80s/early '90s. Fun stuff. The '90s Marvel era gets a bad rap, and rightly so--but prior to 1994, they were still printing some great com...

Re: What are you Playing?

After playing the lackluster Dragon Ball Xenoverse game, I felt the need to play a better DBZ title. so I re-purchased Raging Blast 2 for the PS3. I forgot how fun the game was, and there's still some people who play online--though waiting for a match takes a bit of time. I find this game to be one ...

Re: What are you Reading?

I just picked up all three volumes of Dark Horse's Gunhed manga. Just started on it and enjoy it thus far. I may be one of the only fans of the Gunhed film, but I'm a sucker for miniatures, practical effects, pre-cgi artistry, and Toho's brand of shenanigans. Plus the soundtrack is amazing.

Re: Cassette Girl

Wow, everything about this is amazing! They really nailed that energetic old school anime feel with it. And there's a definite Project A-KO or Burn Up vibe from this, especially with the fanservice, mechs, and frenetic art style. All of the '80s references are great too, with the G1 Optimus Prime ro...
