Re: How are you storing your manga?
I have mine in shelves 2-rows deep, and even then I'm still running out of room. I really need to get some more shelves (not just for manga, but for other books and my DVD/blu-rays as well), but I mever seem to be able to find ones I like that don't cost a small fortune.

Re: Japanese Music - J-Pop, enka, J-Rock, Japanese hip-hop,
Oh man, I haven't listened to Mr. Children in ages! I should find their stuff again and give it another listen.
I love Zard but it's hard for me to listen to any of their stuff anymore without feeling super sad, now that Izumi Sakai is gone.

Re: The Best of the Best
I have problems with being backlogged and owning multiple consoles that I end up being pulled away from the games. :( Don't feel too bad! I have the same problem! I have plenty of games that I've owned for ages and never fully finished (most recently Bayonetta...LOVE that game but I keep forg...

Re: Japanese Music - J-Pop, enka, J-Rock, Japanese hip-hop,
oh, GOSH, I was nutso for Japanese music when I was in high school. I still love a lot of Japanese music, but I'm not as fanatical about it as I once was. XD;; I got into the Japanese music scene with X-Japan, as many people did...I soon discovered Bo0wy (the band that influenced X-Japan the most) a...

Re: The Best of the Best
FF6 is amazing and I still love it. <3 I can see how Chrono Trigger might not be for everyone. While I love it, I also played it back when it was still a "new" thing. A lot of other games have since come out that probably do that whole style better, but since it was the first game like tha...

Re: The old-school anime DVD/BD news thread.
Much of the problem is the way anime companies make money. I think I once heard that up to 90% of their profits come from home DVD/BD sales, which is why they're so expensive. They also don't take the international market into consideration when calculating/estimating profits. I think that's ludicr...

Re: Game soundtracks
I agree with Chrono Trigger (and Chrono Cross!) being a huge fave. Final Fantasy 6 is also a favorite of mine, esp. "Aria di Mezzo Carattere". <3
I also loved the Lunar soundtracks, I used to have all of them thanks to Napster/Audio Galaxy back in the day. XD

Re: The old-school anime DVD/BD news thread.
I agree, I've been wondering for years why the prices of Japanese DVDs and CDs hasn't gone down significantly like it has in America. I remember before I moved to Texas, I saw some Japanese tourists in a Walmart once and they were amazed at the fact that we had an entire section of DVDs that were $5...

Re: Mari Iijima's post today was sad...
I can see how that's a frustrating thing, though...sometimes it's really hard for musicians to break free of the thing that first made them a house-hold name. Not a lot of actors/musicians that make it big with anime can escape that. But on the other hand, it's the anime fans that made her famous, s...

Re: Megumi Hayashibara
Dude, I STILL love Megumi Hayashibara something hardcore :P Haha, I still do, too! But she doesn't seem to do nearly as much nowadays. It kinda makes me sad. ryoran, Ranma is actually one of the few series I like both the dub and the original of. (Well--I should say, I like the original dub cast. T...
