Re: Otaku Unite! documentary?
My nitpicks are that there's too much emphasis on cosplay and cosplayers; I know this makes for interesting visuals, but it's amazing how that stuff fails to hold up after years and years and years of samey-same photos of cosplayers. We get it, cosplay. Of course the Johnny Otaku material is pricel...

Re: Jay Fubler Harvey post-AniPike
Very slick! (^_^) I love the dub to Giant Robo -- "Allegiance or Death! Big Fire!" It's up there with the dub for Cyber City Oedo 808 for cornball ad-libs. (I also kinda wish I could figure out how the edit function works -- I don't think the Jay in Jay Fubler Harvey actually stands for Ja...

Re: End of an Era: SUNET - An ancient Venice FTP mirror
Great stuff! (^_^) The Anime Stuff fanzine seems pretty slick for 1995: http://i.imgur.com/oLdKs4T.png http://i.imgur.com/CD1e2bV.png http://i.imgur.com/3BmUPqh.png http://i.imgur.com/L0sk5lw.png http://i.imgur.com/m03Z7LF.png http://i.imgur.com/YZkPfjh.png http://i.imgur.com/97RhU7r.png http://i.im...

Re: James Lick of tcp.com
On second thought, maybe this should go in Off-Topic, as he doesn't seem to be involved with anime anymore. (^_^;)

Jay Fubler Harvey post-AniPike
Supposedly he retired from anime fandom about 15 years ago (his interview in Otaku Unite! was at the last anime con he would ever go to.) If you're curious about what he's up to now, it seems like he's still running a fan page for a J-Pop band, and is on Twitter: http://dctjoy.com/dct/about-dctjoy/

James Lick of tcp.com
Found his website: http://jameslick.com/ He played a big role in online anime fandom, at least. The Venice FTP server was on tcp.com. AnimeMUCK was on tcp.com. The homepage for Anime Expo was even on tcp.com in the early days... It looks like he retired from his IT career and moved to Taiwan to get ...

The Adventures of Butthurt Anime Fan
http://i.imgur.com/KATTzsY.png https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mQScjlXbBE I thought it was pretty funny. (^_^) I liked how they were able to show how the inter-generational anime fan divide looks to folks from outside of anime fandom, while also clearly being made by fans itself (like the photo of...
