Re: Netflix cancels LA Cowboy Bebop
You could sense something between Fearless and Julia - some strong itch that needed to be scratched - BAD. The twist at the end was tough to take, but you have to consider the environment Julie existed in. Vicious was willing to put a gun to her head and pull the trigger. Can you imagine (even in An...

Re: Netflix cancels LA Cowboy Bebop
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Damn you, Netflix. God damn you (Netflix) all to hell!
That didn't last long - I just streamed the whole series in a few days. It was better than Lost in Space - that's for sure.

Re: "Where's the meeting this week?"
Lamba Mu (moo) was from Revenge of the Nerds. LOL.
That was a nice play on words.
Still, where is the meeting this week? Do we need to bring back a Chat System so we can dish on anime?

[/quote] That's just how human nature works, consciously or unconsciously. I'm guilty of it, and not really feeling guilty about it. People are made to gravitate to people who share the same views, interests and goals. I'm not against cliques because their just little sub socials in a larger social ...

Re: "Where's the meeting this week?"
Our "club" met in the chat section of Compu$erve. They called it a "CB simulator" which was an attempt to link to a known technology, which was not the right way to go, since the chat section was so much better. We didn't have physical locations (or problems with people being new...

Re: Sexism in early anime fandom
What seems to be missing here is a general understanding: fandom (whether it is Science Fiction, Fantasy, or Anime) is cliquy. Is that even a word? Anyway, when you are new, you are labeled a "Neo" or "Noob" or whatever delightful putdown someone has for someone finding their way...

Re: What are you Watching?
I was that curious. I enjoyed the live action Bebop.
It played well, and the SFX were nicely done, not overdone.
You definitely get a vibe that "Fearless" and "John Wick" are close cousins.

I wish that crap would end, but it is what it is. There is always a supply of creeps around. Always.

Well, it's not like clubs have people lined up to be President.... ...most were willing to take a warm body with a pulse (fog a mirror principle). Some clubs had passionate members, but you have to be thinking "With this 24/7 activity as well as my life in the actual, how long can I keep this u...
