Re: What did old-school fans think about digital fansubs?

I did a lot of copying and trading of VHS fansubs, and helped out on a few of the CPF releases. Re: Let's Anime: Force Five

Those Crusher Joe clips in "Bad American Dubbing" are from "Crushers," yes. What we used for that video remains the best looking copy of "Crushers" I've ever seen; its distribution must have been just about non-existent. And deservedly so.

Re: Anime Sacramento (C/FO - Sacramento)?

Hey Laurine! Glad to hear you're on the mend. I cannot imagine 110 degrees on Labor Day. Or any other time, to be honest. If you haven't seen the Shin Ultraman movie, put that on your to-get list!

Re: The old-school anime DVD/BD news thread.

It's not really surprising they'd announced the Aim For The Ace movie, but it's still wonderful to hear. That movie is just about perfect. You know how sometimes you're watching a movie and you think to yourself "it would be exactly right for the movie to end right at this moment, the credits n...

Let's Anime: Arcadia Of My Youth

Only a little late for the film's 40th anniversary comes my look at Arcadia Of My Youth, or My Youth In Arcadia as we used to call it, and how its various iterations have impacted my experience of the film over the years. https://letsanime.blogspot.com/2023/01/vengeance-of-my-youths-arcadia.html arc...

Re: When did American anime fandom and Japanese import game fandom come together?

In the mid 1990s I noticed a lot of the people showing up to our anime club meetings were setting up TVs and playing video games in the back of the room, and I suppose a lot of those were import Japanese games? I was not much of a video game person, and am still not much of a video game person, so I...
