Re: An index of prominent figures in the early anime fandom?
Say, is there anyone here who is familiar with the 1980s and 1990s cosplay scene? Was there any notable individual, like designer or trendsettler or event organizer?

Re: An index of prominent figures in the early anime fandom?
If your looking for people who translated manga/anime I can think of Neil Nadleman and Toshifumi Yoshida. Yoshia is a producer for the Pokemon TV series these days and shows up at Animazement every year to help out with Japanese guests at panels, and Neil I hang out with along with Dave Merrill and...

Re: An index of prominent figures in the early anime fandom?
Mark Simmons is "the" Gundam guy that Bandai goes too to make sure their info on Gundam is correct. From what I understand he ran a Gundam site in the web 1.0 days, and also has his own Gundam Official Guide book printed by Viz/Animerica in 2002 (which I still proudly own to this day). Th...

Re: An index of prominent figures in the early anime fandom?
Anyone here have any knowledge about Mark Simmons, the American Gundam expert back in the early 2000s? I know that he was hired by Sunrise and Bandai to promote their shows in America with his writings.

Re: pages from C/FO Magazine V2 #3
here are some answers: 1. I don't know Vecchio's exact service details. He moved to Atlanta from Florida; in Florida he'd been involved in the Orlando club JACO, and a JACO member named Daric had earlier moved to Atlanta. Joe later moved to Atlanta and roomed with Daric. 2. Joe, along with Lloyd Ca...

Re: An index of prominent figures in the early anime fandom?
Does anyone here know anything about Robert Fenelon, one of the founding members of Michael Pinto's Star Blazers fanclub, and the guy who Michael entrusted the club when he left in 1984? I only know that he was an editor for the club's fanzine. I've met Rob a few times at Anime Weekend Atlanta. Rea...

Re: pages from C/FO Magazine V2 #3
Can I ask you some questions, Dave? - Did Joe Vecchio immediately moved to Atlanta and became your acquaintance after he finished his tour in Japan? - Could you tell me about Llyod Carter? Did he help you, Matt Murray, and Joe Vecchio to create Anime Weekend Atlanta? What he had been doing in the fa...
