Re: An index of prominent figures in the early anime fandom?

There is an old school anime fan group on facebook that would be interested, I think Dave and Tim are part of that. Submitting your work to ANN for them to do some kinda hit piece might work in your favor, but im not so sure about them. The guy who runs Colony Drop/ Zimmerit.moe is a good person to...

Re: An index of prominent figures in the early anime fandom?

Can anyone here give me an advice on how to make more people aware of my index? I have tried to post the link on social networks and forums I frequents, but there are almost no one reply. I wonder if I have been talking to the wrong audience, but beside this forum, I don't know any other place where...

Re: The Anime Nostalgia Podcast & Blog

It is a pleasant surprise to see you review There Were Eleven, usamimi. I always think that the movie should be included in the bucket list for every sci-fi anime lover. It's such a shame that not more people are aware of it. Also, have you and your guests ever discussed about how much early sci-fi ...

Book Nippan and Books Nippon Japanese Animation Fan Club

Can anyone here explain to me the connection between Book Nippan and Books Nippon Japanese Animation Fan Club? Were both one and the same, or was the former--a division of Nippon Shuppan Hanbai--created the later as a platform to gather American fans together and act as their source of information? ...

Re: An index of prominent figures in the early anime fandom?

A heck of a lot written, nice work! I would suggest adding in of Fred Patton passing last year (which im sure you'll probably get to doing that.) Im actually curious on your write up on Macek regarding him being caught lying when working on Robotech 2 and Robotech the Movie. He's been pretty honest...

Re: Thunderbirds 2086

I can't speak for UK television, but the 1983- 1984 US television schedule featured several toy-specific shows like GI Joe, Transformers, He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe, Go Bots, My Little Pony, Rainbow Brite, and Voltron. M.A.S.K. started in 1985. With so much shows at the same type, it go...

Re: Interviews with animators or artists

Apologize for my ignorance, but can anyone here explain to me why did NHK destroy their own footages? I have been a NHK World audience for a long time, and one complain people always have is that they never releases their series on DVD. But destroy their footages? Anyway, here is a short documentary...

Re: Thunderbirds 2086

finally finished a Let's Anime about Thunderbirds 2086! You know, Thunderbirds 2086, the Japanese animation that was based on the 60s Gerry Anderson Supermarionation adventure series, until it wasn't based on that show any more, and then it was again! Cheers! It is a great article! Although I have ...
