Re: Worried about the upcoming Star Wars movies

I have a few online friends who are also not excited about the upcoming Star Wars movie. I've seen the trailers, and nothing is really grabbing me. I am sure I will likely get dragged off to the theater to see this one when it is released, but so far I've seen nothing that makes me say, "Holy c...

Re: The Latest Movies (Non-Anime) You Are Watching Right Now

I guess Fury Road is finally available for rent here in Japan, so maybe I'll rent it tonight for the 3-day weekend. I will drive up to the in-laws' place in Nagano Prefecture, so I'm looking forward to the cold air biting me once I exit the car when we arrive. As for Boyhood... I don't want to let R...

I just scheduled the crap out of the Anime Past Chat Event #5 via Google Hangouts for the 17th/18th. If you didn't receive the invitation, check the link in the Private Discussion Area.

Re: t-shirt heaven

It's cool to see Kimono My House still in business! IIRC, that is where I bought my Lum T-shirt and a few posters from, back in the mid-'90s. My prized T-shirt is still my black & white Macross DYRL T-shirt I bought at a local comic book shop. http://stevethefish.net/life/ftw/timecapsule/thmshir...

Re: What are you Playing?

Wow, that black & white Godzilla level with the classic music playing sounds like something I'd want to see. I'm nearing the final stretch of Red Dead Redemption. Heard dismaying news about the fate of the main character (who's easily the best I've ever played in a Rockstar game) but excited to ...

Re: Hiya!

Welcome! I used to watch Superbook and Flying House in Sunday school when I was a kid. Too bad those characters weren't in the Tatsunoko vs. Capcom game on the Wii, because it'd be great to beat the crap out of Ken and Ryu with that little robot from Flying House. ;) (Come to think of it, Speed Race...

Re: Sorry I'm late, what did I miss?

Welcome to the site! I guess I'd assumed that younger anime fans wouldn't be interested in the history of fandom before their time. It's nice that you're here and interested in learning how it was!

OK, I will schedule a Google Hangout for Saturday, October 17th in the evening for Americans, which would be the morning of the 18th for me in Japan. Guyver, thanks for sending me your Google ID.

Re: Retro Computing

Game Sack on YouTube did a review of the Amiga CD32 recently. It was interesting to see a 32 bit CD console that was a European gaming machine, as opposed to a mostly Japanse gaming console.

Upgrading an old Amiga computer like that... That is pretty amazing!
