And appreciate Discotek we will.
Have you seen any screenshots floating around that show the image quality in their Galaxy Express releases?
I'm surprised that these guys can stay afloat though. I can't imagine these kinds of releases being terribly popular for the mainstream audience...

Re: Greg's introduction
There was an interview with Carl Macek on ANN awhile ago. If either of you haven't listened to it, you really should: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/anncast/2010-01-14

Re: Greg's introduction
I had repied to AnimeSennin's first reply, but maybe I must have closed the window without submitting the message. Ack, that's too bad. I usually compose my messages in a text editor and then just paste them into the forum message entry so that I don't lose any work due to such things. You're quite...

Re: Laserdiscs
Well, it's the same song. It's just that the version I have contains the Flashback animation to the song instead of the plain black background for the credits. I can be incredibly nitpicky over little things sometimes... :) Nice collection! The best thing about LD is the large artwork booklets that...

Re: Laserdiscs
I have to say that if we're talking about straight VHS/LD/DVD/BD/etc (as opposed to the content, i.e. fansub tapes), then my favorite format by far is LD...! Here's my little collection; I don't have too much though... On the top is Gall Force Earth Chapter 3 and Harmagedon. Then from left to right ...

Re: Laserdiscs
The Dirty Pair LD box set is the TV series + OVA series. I may pick it up sooner or later; thanks! There were several Macross DYRL LDs released. One was pan & scan (I believe), one was letterboxed. There was also another letterboxed version that has a different end credits, which is what I have...

Re: What are you Playing?
The DS (and the PSP to an extent) is the only real home to sprite-based games anymore... If you like 16-bit sprites and RPGs in general, the DS is where it's at. The DS Lite is best because it can play GBA games like Yggdra Union. It's also the home to many re-releases of games that were on the SNE...

Greg touched on a topic in another thread that I just couldn't ignore: anime LDs! Ah yes, big shiny anime LDs. And they came with beautiful box art and booklets and such to boot. What old school anime fan doesn't love them? I see that Greg's collection is here . What exactly's on that Dirty Pair set...

Old Digital Images Slideshow
I was thinking of making a little video slideshow of old anime images from the late 80s to mid-90s that I could stick onto YouTube and whatnot. (well, until I can find some people with stuff to contribute to the site, the old digital stuff is the best memorabilia that I've got to work with right now...
