Re: Remember those old anime webrings?

Were you a part of any webrings? Gosh, I think my Linna page was a part of a BGC webring once upon a time. I really couldn't remember which one though. Eventually, I took it off my page because a lot of those pages would just disappear and such. I like your spoof page :) I remember that style of ba...

Remember those old anime webrings?

Do you remember those dumb webrings from the mid-'90s that connected anime fan pages together? If you had a page on something like Sailor Moon or whatever, there would be a Sailor Moon ring that would have links to other such pages, and in theory they would connect all of these pages together. They ...

Re: Live, from Fidonet:Anime and Animenet: Ganalef!

Wow. I figured that even though I've known you from the glory days of otakudom in the mid-90s, I would learn a lot about you once you started posting. Those days at the Anime Archive BBS were wonderful and full of fond memories. I used to spend so much time posting on the Anime Echo and the Robotech...

Re: Old Digital Images Slideshow

I believe so. I even borrowed the KOR LD box set and made some enlarged color copies to turn into posters. Alas, I may end up having to get rid of them due to the move. Any takers? I'd just ask for maybe $15 plus whatever the shipping cost is. I can try to find a box to ship them in, if possible. I ...

Re: moving to Japan

Thanks. The worst part is behind me. I was dreading to tell my parents that we are leaving. They live in the Phoenix area as well, and they've grown accustomed to us living so close to them. Yesterday, I finally told them the news in-person. My parents didn't take the news of us leaving very well, a...

Re: Old Digital Images Slideshow

Even though I have the DVDs, the KOR laserdisc box sets are worth owning just for the beautiful artwork alone.

That's it. Wow, that is cheap! It looks like they just released that one DVD. That's a shame.

Re: moving to Japan

This job offer has taken us by surprise. I figured that if I were to get a job, it wouldn't start until April (the beginning of the school year), so I figured we had some time. But now we're scrambling like mad to pack and prepare. Haven't even told my parents yet, but we'll do that today. I do not ...

Re: Jen's Intro

It's cool to see girls into mecha. It's not that often, I suppose. In the early '90s, anime was mostly a guy's thing, but now fan girls are everywhere, it seems. My sister and I were at a BBS get-together at a pool hall, and she was wearing my Ranma 1/2 shirt. The guy who is now her husband took not...

Re: What are you Watching?

I haven't watched it yet, but a few days ago I was at Bookmans (local used book store) and they had a DVD of Cyborg 009, the unedited first eight episodes in Japanese! My friend bought the English-only version DVDs at a Big Lots or something, and I did not know that this series was released unaltere...
