Re: Sakura Con 2013
My younger sister created this year's mascot, so she had an artist alley table there. I heard she did really well. Was kind of disappointed though that this was the year they decided not to have the mascot displayed everywhere (such as banners on the streets and such) like previous years. That was ...

Re: Hello everyone
Welcome, welcome! :D omg, I am the SAME WAY. I love thrift shopping and stuff, too, just like Ryoran. XD I rarely ever buy anime brand new anymore if I can help it. Path - EYES of Mars got a VHS release , but not an official DVD one (probably because of the terrible reviews most websites gave it.) I...

Re: Today's finds
They actually kept all the old submitted lyrics from before--if you look at some of the older ones, you can even see where it says he had to do some editing: http://www.animelyrics.com/anime/yohko/mhynight.htm But yeah, I agree, it's not nearly as nice as it used to be. The site itself is so ugly an...

Re: The Time Capsule
I think it depends on the artist and/or how much time they have versus how many people show up. In 2002 and 2003 at Sakura-con, I got sketches from Hiroshi Nagahama--but both times, the line for autographs weren't terribly long, so he had plenty of time to do drawings for everyone. I think the last ...

Surprisingly, animelyrics.com is still around, though the guy who started it ("Sailor Bacon", lol) no longer has a hand in it.

Re: The great FidoNet Robotech controversy
Yikes. I think I must be one of the only people out there with fond memories of some Streamline releases (well, mostly Robot Carnival and Akira--I can't listen to the newer dub of Akira, to me it's just not the same without Cam Clarke screaming at the top of his lungs XD). While I was always a bit m...

Re: Kimagure Orange Road
Another reason I wish I lived closer to a Book Off! I'm kinda hoping that some of the people I bought manga from last year at A-kon will be here again this year--last year, I found a guy selling a stack of random Urusei Yatsura tankobon (original old covers!) for $3 each...I asked if he could ...
