Re: Fast Food Japan/Other restaurants in JP Discussion Threa
http://www.ajisen.ca/ Apparently their Japanese restaurants are in Kumamoto - about 70 stores Greater Tokyo Area - 5 stores, Kyoto, Osaka, Aichi, Shizuoka, Fukuoka, Saitama, and Kobe, and their American outlets are in California and NY. I'm no ramen expert by any means, but it's good stuff, their To...

Just picked up the new Shigeru Mizuki KITARO manga from D&Q. It's a thing of beauty.

Bob's Burgers is consistently funny. Confident, sometimes brutal, never takes the easy way out, wonderful voice work. I love the freewheeling, improv-style voice direction.

Re: make anime conventions better
Because scope-creep is two-fold. I have seen a large number of attendees that are fans of all sorts of stuff - but above all else, they are fans of going to conventions . They love packing their stuff, loading up a hotel room, wandering the convention hall and dropping cash in dealers' rooms. They'...

That's what I like about SD, it's a great town to just be a tourist in. Easy to get around, lots of things to see and do by the convention center. Good restaurants, sightseeing, history, if you're feeling adventurous you can hop the trolley to Tijuana.

There are 3 Ajisen Ramen restaurants in Toronto, and it's our go-to place when we want some ramen, especially when it's cold out. What's the chain like in Japan? Is the Chinese-language Christian muzak a chain-wide phenomena, or is that just a Toronto thing?

Re: San Diego Comic Con
I think my last SDCC was 1996 or 1997. I'm fuzzy on dates. It struck me as a huge show then and it's only gotten bigger. I think there was a period of about, I dunno, ten or 12 years in which I hadn't the resources or the time or the inclination to go; this year has been the one year when I'm readin...

Re: The old-school anime DVD/BD news thread.
Starzan S in ANY kind of home video format would be great. I think every bit of it I've seen has been off-air episdoes from of Eldred's tape collection. There are a lot of shows like this, shows that are mildly amusing but that might not warrant a full-series DVD set, that would be good candidates f...
