Macross Delta

So a new Macross series is on the horizon: Macross Delta. There was a panel at the All-Japan Model Hobby Show on Saturday that discussed this, but I was unable to attend since I was working at the event. All I know is that as far as merchandising go, there will be an "open license." I don'...

Re: Chat room?

Let's aim for a weekend in October. The only time I will not be free would be the weekend of the 10th and 11th. I don't have a Facebook and my goal in life is to have my tombstone read: "Here lies Greg. He never watched Titanic nor ever had a Facebook account." If others want to join thoug...

Re: Show us your shitajiki (pencil boards)!

I never tried services like Shopping Mall Japan. I see auctions posted I'd like to win, but their service fees are substantial for items (like shitajiki) under 2000Y. There is always a middle man ;) Yeah, SMJ is a fantastic service, but it sucks for smaller-priced items because they have a minimum ...

Re: Sega Dreamcast Love

On Wednesday, my coworker friend and I worked at a kindergarten and after that was finished at 2pm, I invited him over to my place to play some Dreamcast games. He's about 10 years younger than me, but he loves Sega consoles. We played Dynamite Deka 2, Gigawing 2, Gunbird 2, Last Blade 2, and King o...

Re: What are you Playing?

Speaking of Telltale Games...has anyone played Tales of Monkey Island? I'm a fan of the Monkey Island games, and it looks promising. I'm several years late to the party, but I might have to try it. No, but I loved playing the first two games on my sister's 486 computer in the early '90s. &quo...

Re: What are you Watching?

I can't deal with this crap. Why are protagonists so angry? It wasn't like this when I was a kid. Rick Hunter never cried tears of rage while screaming some holier-than-thou monolog at confused onlookers. I need main characters that I like, but I want to strangle this kid. I haven't seen the show y...

Re: Anime and the MovieCD format

I still have quite a few anime VCDs (mostly the Speedy Dub of Dragon Ball), and even have the VCD adapter for my 3DO! Oh wow! I wasn't aware there was one, but then again, I never really knew much about the 3DO. I know that there's an MPEG add-on for the Sega Saturn that allows you to play VCDs, an...

Re: Anime and the MovieCD format

Oh wow. I barely remember seeing these at Computer City back in the day. So they won't run on modern computers, huh? That's a bummer. I do remember VCDs better. My friend from Hong Kong in college had a bunch of those.

Re: What are you Watching?

Did you all know that there's a new version of Heroic Legend of Arslan? It's coming on in an hour from now, on my SBS channel. I own the original complete series on DVD, but I've never watched it all the way through. IIRC, my friend told me that they never finished it. At least, this was back in the...

Re: What non-Japanese animation are you watching?

Sorry for the late reply. I haven't been on here much lately, enjoying summer, etc. The Star Trek animated series is like a continuation of the Enterprise's 5 year mission that was cancelled after its third season. Everyone but Chechov reprises their roles in the animated series, which is great. It ...
