Re: What are you Watching?

So I spent several days at the in-laws' place, escaping the heat in the cool mountains of Nagano Prefecture. I brought a bunch of DVDs and such, but I spent most of my time doing crossword puzzles. I did manage to watch a couple more episodes of Molett's (Bodacious) Space Pirates. I'm getting close ...

Re: What non-Japanese animation are you watching?

Today I finally finished watching the Star Trek Animated Series on LD. I started watching it years ago, but lost track of it after moving to Japan. It's great that everyone but Walter Koenig reprises their roles in the show as voice actors. It really is a cool show, and it's canon as far as I care. ...

I just fixed the links. I didn't get any takers on any of the forums I posted this to, so I resorted to eBay.

Here's the listing.

Despite the jibungous, obtrusive subtitles, this 3.5 minute commercial for Valis on the Famicom is superb. I had no idea that Hideaki Anno was the director for this game! Telnet games are surely missed... Long live miniskirt and bikini armor-clad babes with swords! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VT...

Re: Woot loot bragging thread

This is severely neat. I scored this on YAJ: a button for the Famicom version of Valis. This game really deserved to be made into an OVA!

Re: What are you Playing?

Last night I went to one of the "nerd paradise, open 'til 2am" stores and bought a new DS game: Futari wa Precure Max Heart Danzen DS. It's like a Final Fight beat-em-up game, but with Precure characters. As I've mentioned before, the only Precure that interests me is the original Futari w...

I'm asking $30 for it. Please pay me via PayPal in US dollars. Shipping outside of Japan should be about $8, and EMS for about $14. PM me if you're interested. Thanks.

Re: This YouTube buttcrap from Google needs to stop

Google was actually listening to the complaints! They are going to separate Google+ from being a requirement for YouTube. Here's a link to their YouTube blog. I actually noticed a decline in the number of trolls due to the G+ integration, though. That was the only really good thing that came from th...

Re: Summer Wonder Festival July 26th in Chiba

OK, here's a photographic gallery of pictures I took at Summer Wonder Festival on Sunday! http://stevethefish.net/life/life104.htm I got to meet Naoyuki Katou and his wife Keiko from Studio Nue. My acquaintance described Keiko as the "model" or "heart" of the Dirty Pair. I am not...

Major Tom used to be the old handle I would use on BBSes and my e-mail addresses back in the '90s.
