My suspicion is that January 1st was their advertised release date, but whether or not they met that release date is anybody...

Re: Which came out in the US first, Animeigo's MADOX-01 or US Renditions' Gunbuster?
I'd like to see more Gunbuster promo - a trade advertisement would be nice, for one thing - but at this point, if that Animag article is correct then Gunbuster was released before MADOX-01 and I will have to adjust years of incorrect thinking. the earliest I can see anyone discussing the Gunbuster t...

Re: Which came out in the US first, Animeigo's MADOX-01 or US Renditions' Gunbuster?
that's exactly the ad I was thinking about, but as it happens, the ad we ran in "Oxygen Destroyer" was for their Riding Bean release. The memory DOES cheat! I did, however, find the Summer 1990 issue of "Animation Velocity" which continued the letter-writing feud between Randall ...

There's an issue of my anime zine "Oxygen Destroyer" that features a print advertisement for MADOX-01's release, I'll dig it up when I get home and see what it says in terms of release dates.

Re: Organizing Your Media And Merch
that 4K capture thing, coupled with the RCA to HDMI thing, seems like a good solution. Definitely better than the MyGiga USB capture dongle I've been using since my DVD recorder bit the dust. Gotta put this on my Xmas list.

it's my understanding that the bulk of his photos are archived at the AC Paradise site - they have 288 galleries of his pictures, which seems like a bunch

Re: RIP Kevin Lillard
That guy was a constant presence at anime cons - if I didn't see him there I knew SOMETHING was wrong. It wasn't until the mid 2000s that the sheer volume of anime conventions meant that he was constantly having to pick one over another - and they were too far apart for him to hit three in a weekend...
