Re: What are you Reading?

Yeah, my very favorite manga I was collecting, Gundam: Ecole du Ciel, fell apart when Tokyopop died. Back in April of this year, Tokyopop announced that they are quitting the publishing business for North America. The founder of Tokyopop issued a statement that totally skirted the issue of why they'...

Re: What are you Playing?

I don't keep up with newer games, so admittedly I had to go to YouTube to check those ones out, but they look pretty fun; lemme know how they go :) The DS (and the PSP to an extent) is the only real home to sprite-based games anymore. Although that may be changing with this new 3DS, which I am not ...

Re: The Best of the Best

You must give the earlier games a shot. The epitome of the Final Fantasy series was #6 . It had the best story, best characters, best fighting system (although I do like the Materia system from FF7), and the best music. FF4 was great, with memorable characters. FF5 had the nice job system going for ...

Re: Greg's introduction

And for all I could say against Robotech as show, if nothing else I can't say a damn negative thing against the generation of fandom that it spawned, the vast overwhelming majority of which (in my experience) were wickedly smart, extremely well informed and knowledgeable, and incredibly engaging to...

Re: What are you Playing?

For several years in college, playing through Secret of Mana was a December ritual for me. It seemed appropriate, since there is an ice level where you meet Santa Claus in the game. :) I'm currently playing an RPG for the PSP called Fate Extra, a spin-off of the Fate/Stay Night franchise. It's prett...

Re: What are you Reading?

I recently finished reading Otaku no Musume-san on an online scanlation site. It provides some interesting insight into modern otaku culture and shows how truly pathetic they can be. They've painted themselves into a corner by being complete retards so that no woman would be interested in them, so t...

Re: Requiem for animation that once spoke my language.

The '80s had a lot of moxy to it. But the '90s animation stuff had smoothed the sharp edge of '80s cartoons, and stuff that made the '80s great was starting to disappear. Very few shows, such as EXO Squad, had anybody die in it. I thought that Titan A.E. was pretty decent (it could've been better if...
