Re: What are you Playing?

Playing some more Dragon's Crown. This is one of those games that is probably even more fun to play with other players. Unfortunately I have no internet access in my apt unit and I don't have a lot of adult friends currently who would come to my pad to play this with me. The game seems to be a spir...

Re: the Yamato 2199 thread

Well, considering that the series was a flop in North America (probably partially due to the fact that it was called "Starblazers 2199" and people didn't want to see that), I doubt that a box set would be available for the NA market. I think I may slowly build up a collection of the BluRay...

I went on a shopping trip yesterday to the Nakano Broadway Building, and I bought several new shitajiki at Mandarake! https://farm1.staticflickr.com/733/20999487921_a3f922ba0f.jpg Gal Force https://farm1.staticflickr.com/581/20991985605_3ba79fc3b2.jpg Panda Ko Panda https://farm6.staticflickr.com/58...

I loved my 7800! I played it until it stopped working. I didn't have Food Fight, but my cousin had it and it was real fun.

Re: So about Rinne...

I had recorded one episode, and I played it in the background while I was doing other stuff. From what I saw, it seemed to be a mix of Ranma and Inu Yasha. I wasn't paying close attention to it, but it seemed fairly derivative.

A second Yamato 2199 series covering the Gatlantis Comet Empire story arc is indeed going to happen!

Re: live-action versions of anime

Today I finally got around to watching All You Need Is Kill, aka Edge of Tomorrow. That was a pretty cool movie. It's pretty amazing to think that a big movie starring Tom Cruise would be based off of a manga like this. The story was pretty tight, and I really can't think of any real criticisms abou...

So about Rinne...

...What are people's opinions? I remember seeing the translated manga back when I lived in the US. The anime is currently airing on NHK. I don't know much about it, but I really have a soft spot for Takahashi's character designs. So is this show great, or so-so?

A cynical take on all the cashing-in going on

RedLetter Media did a spoof of all these supposed "geek-centric" news Web-casts. Here's the link. I admit that I'm only interested in Marvel movies, particularly the Marvel Studios (and X-Men stuff by Fox, but none of the rest). That seems to be all I care about these days. I'm certainly n...
