Re: The River City Ransom series

It looks like Arc System Works has sublicensed the internationalized version of the series to a developer who is making a new game -- should be out by the end of the month: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VphbX86KUYQ

Re: The River City Ransom series

Hot-blooded Kunio-kun is the series name, I think: http://www.kuniokun.jp/ Technōs Japan was the original company. (^_^) They went out of business in 1996, but the franchise was picked up by another company in Japan, Million Co. Ltd., who made a few more games, until they were bought out by Arc Syst...

Re: What caused the C/FO to fall apart?

Maybe interesting, Fred Patten's response to Sean Leonard's theory about why the C/FO fell apart from Leonard's 2003 papers "Progress Against the Law: Fan Distribution, Copyright, and the Explosive Growth of Japanese Animation" and "Celebrating Two Decades of Unlawful Progress: Fan Di...

Re: The Japan Animation Network / Animation News Service

More details from the FAQ, from an archived version of the club's website: -- I've never heard of the JAN before, yet you say that you've around since 1987. -- I remember your organization, but I heard that it disbanded in 1993. -- I wrote to your organization, but never received a reply. From late ...

The Japanese Animation Network / Animation News Service

A 1995 summary: In the Summer of 1987, Roy Bruce organized a Richmond, Virginia anime club as a chapter of the Cartoon/Fantasy Organization, called C/FO-CVA (Cartoon/Fantasy Organization of Central Virginia). During the breakup of the C/FO in early 1988, the C/FO-CVA became the Japanese Animation Ne...

Re: Urusei Yatsura Mailing List, 1986-1991

Also helpful because it means that the messages before April 1987 may have bad dates. (^_^;) So I think maybe these are the first three messages: Date: Fri, 10 Apr 87 15:46:41 PST From: bowles%cory.Berkeley.EDU@BERKELEY.EDU (Eric Bowles) Message-Id: <8704102346.AA02146@cory.Berkeley.EDU> To: mrc%pan...
