Huh. Never knew he was an anime fan. I had interactions with him a number of times on usenet back in the early 2000s and late 90s. Mostly about Marvel reprints which were starting to become trendy in those days.

he was in the Earth Defense Command club as well; he and Mike Kanterovich did some kind of short humor comic in the EDC fanzine, as I recall.
