4K HDR Japanese content

Just wondering if anyone has been upgrading their home TV equipment for the new 4K HDR format? I now have most of the components for display as well, I can keep track of sources here:

But the Japanese seem to be lagging. Content that I thought for sure would be out in 4K isn't (to the best of my knowledge) coming out. So, for instance, no Yamato 2202 in 4K HDR. Since this is shown normally theatrically in Japan it's baffling. Would love to rent out the theater here in town and run the disc for the benefit of my friends and other anime fanatics. But it's a no go if it's Blu Ray 1080p only...

We'll probably get a 4K TV when our current TV dies, but it's been working fine since we bought it and I can't see replacing it until it dies. Of course that will mean getting a new BD player and probably new content, but that's not anything I'm in any big rush to do. By the time I get around to it, they'll probably be pushing 8K on us.

Yeah same here: no big rush in our household to get a new TV any time soon, since our current one still works fine. I generally wait on super new home theater technology to get a bit more mainstream until switching over, that way there's more stuff to choose from & it's not as expensive.

Cheap 4K sets good for monitor use for computers or general TV and movie watching can be had for under $500CAD now. Hisense, RCA, Seiki, etc. are very popular at 43" - 65". Just have to check which panels are the best and go from there...
