anime north, those troublemakers

Post by davemerrill »

So we got another Anime North done, and while the convention itself was a successful weekend full of anime con stuff like panels, concerts, contests, dealers, etc., the real story is that the Conservative Party was having a leadership election in the North building of the Toronto Convention Centre, next to the South building, which is where (part of) Anime North is. So we had a lot of confused Conservatives not knowing where they had to go to vote, and... well, I'll let the news tell the story.

If this isn't Japanese animation impacting a nation, I don't know what is.

Also, I got interviewed by NOW, Toronto's free weekly, in connection with the "Anime Hell" event that's confused and entertained crowds in Toronto since 2005 and elsewhere since 1997 (?), so that was kinda cool!
