RIP, Hiromi Tsuru

Post by usamimi »

Some sad news: voice actress Hiromi Tsuru has died suddenly at age 57. She was the original voice of Madoka Ayukawa, Bulma, Ukyo Kuonji, and many others. She died of an aortic dissection. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2 ... 57/.124141

Way too many shocking obits for VAs these past few years. KOR, DBZ, and Ranma fans are going to be despondent over Ms Tsuru's passing.
I probably heard her work first in either Macross or Gall Force, but her modest yet cloying role as Asuna from MI is what I recall best.
/old club never showed KOR or DBZ in our lineup

Yes, she was wonderful as Asuna! Man, I really should rewatch Maison Ikkoku...

While she's had some very notable roles (particularly for us here), going back through her list of roles at ANN, it's amazing how many notable and supporting parts she voiced all through her career. And it's not it's divided up with her supporting roles being primarily early in her career, either!

She's a true talent that will be missed.
