Shizuoka Hobby Show 2014: May 15th through 18th!

Post by greg »

So Thursday and Friday were open only to the media and industry insiders. Here's HLJ's coverage of the event (at least as far as the Gunpla TV host Syd usually covers).

Lots of Gundam (of course), plus new Patlabor, Votoms, and naturally Yamato 2199 stuff. YAY. New Macross kits too.

Too bad the guy doing the video had no idea that ship from Yamato 2199 was Desler's flagship. He had no idea what the series was? Yamato 2199 was one of the biggest hits of the last 2 years...

Yeah, ironically, the guy is the host of "Gunpla TV," the big YouTube show that is dedicated to covering news and builds of Gundam model kits, yet he doesn't even really know much about the Gundam TV shows. Just mainly the Gundam mecha themselves. I don't get it. His co-host, Ryan, grew up a huge Macross fan, but he doesn't know much about Gundam, either. Sadly, the show is 99% Gundam models, and not much else. Ryan will build something non-Gundam, but Syd is the one who does most of the talking and building, which is all Gundam, hence the name "Gunpla TV."
