I'm glad you posted up those "Christian Shit" material on the site. It's an interesting time capsule to see, and its entertaining to see pure hypocrisy coming from the fingers of these biblical parents, when the commenters are there to say "Hey wait a sec, here's why what you say doesn't add up." I could talk about both sides for days through my perspective, but I won't clutter this post with that, maybe that should be in a panel at AWA one day, well see.

The Weird Doc folder on the other hand, has my interest... ;)

The end of the year is near upon us and we've just dropped the one of the last episodes of the year - a discussion of Twilight of the Cockroaches!

2019 has been off to a busy start - and that means we've been prepping new work for AkibaRen but haven't been able to get anything finalized and published until now.

I wrote a big article looking at older, "classic" series and releases announced in 2018 across various companies and platforms - the State of Classic Anime in North America 2018. It's something that I am hoping/planning on turning into an annual feature so I hope everyone enjoys.

We're getting some new podcasts recorded and I've got a few more drafts that are almost ready to go, so hopefully there will be some more frequency in updates.

New podcast dropped this weekend! We're coming upon a most momentous occasion on the fandom calendar: The 40th Anniversary of Mobile Suit Gundam! Richard and I chat about the franchise and it's 40 year history, so give us a listen.

Next podcast is recorded and edited; we're talking about nengo and the Imperial calendar. When we recorded, we didn't have the new era name (due to how this is traditionally handled) but the cabinet announced the new name today, so now I get to figure out where to edit that note in. Please look forward to it!

Opted not to have an edited note about the new name in the last podcast that dropped here but we have a bit in the next episode. It's still on the editing block, haven't had the time with family shenanigans lately to get it finalized and up for release. Hopefully this weekend.

I also dropped another Free Talk blogpost this week, this one about puns and some naming conventions I've come across (or discovered or made up) - Akihabara Renditions: What's In A Name

New podcast dropped yesterday! Richard has dragged me, again, kicking and screaming into the modern times, for a look at Gundam Thunderbolt: Bandit Flower. Download here! or from your favorite podcast provider!

Whew, June just flew by! Today, we've released a new podcast episode where we discuss 1985's Vampire Hunter D, concluding our Night of the Vampire Robots accidental trilogy! We also reviewed its sequel, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust from 2000.

Download it here if it's not already programmed into your RSS machines.

July was a busy month for us - well, most of us anyhow. The podcast RSS fired as scheduled but for whatever reason, the blog didn't post as scheduled.

For episode 20, Richard wanted to pull me kicking and screaming out of toons of the 1980s, so we discuss some new anime (with probably a more loose idea of what constitutes "new"). We had fun with this, talking about a few shows with in a brief, short form discussion. Some stuff in this episode is still old hat for a lot of the crew here still but it's new to us!

In episode 21, we head back to the bread and butter and talk about a TV series and OAV that we've touched on briefly before - Yoroiden Samurai Troopers. A lot of the show prep came from putting together a panel discussion for Anime Weekend Atlanta last year, but since we weren't able to present it, we modified it as an outline for a podcast topic.

Trying, where I can, to get the finishing edits done on a couple of text pieces and have a couple more episodes to edit. Hope you look forward to them!
