eagle sam the olympic eagle

Post by davemerrill »

just in time for the closing ceremonies, it’s a new Let’s Anime all about the 1980s anime based on the mascot for the LA Summer Games, with a little bit about the 1979 anime based on the mascot for the Moscow Summer Games, and how you can still find merchandise from these characters!

I think there's only one episode extant, and that one episode got fansubbed. I meant to include the link in my article but I forgot - I kinda rushed through this one. Just happy to write a column that combined my love of anime with my love of digging thru antique malls!

It's a fairly average kind of show - most times you think about an anime series that never got a proper home video release and it seems like a shame, but this one not so much. It's more of a historical curiosity than anything else.
