Bigger and badder than our first effort, The Last American Fanzine 2: The Quickening features over 70 perfect-bound pages of full-color anime content. Contributing writers to this issue include notable Internet anime fans like Benjamin Ettinger (Anipages), Patrick Macias (Otaku USA, Crunchyroll News), David Merrill (Let’s Anime and the first Colony Drop fanzine), Mike Toole (Anime News Network), and Daryl Surat (Anime World Order and Otaku USA).

Articles cover a variety of anime-related topics. Here’s a rough rundown:

• The seminal Cream Lemon episode Pop Chaser.
• Patlabor’s real-life influences.
• A discussion with two Japanese journalists about anime publishing.
• The VHS-based lifestyle of fans during the Reagan administration.
• The underbelly of the U.S. anime convention scene.
• Fandom during the dial-up era.
• 1980s basic cable programming and To-Y.

Concern about the intelligence and drive of the younger fan will be relieved with the second Colony Drop zine, a giant full color old-school print fanzine put together by people younger than I am. Hope for the future!

Oops, almost created a duplicate thread about this! Sorry :oops: Yes, I thoroughly enjoyed both issues!

In case anyone has missed the links;
Issue 1 PDF available for free & Issue 1 print order here
Issue 2 print order here.

It's a great read, issue 2 is an improvement over issue 1 regards interesting content, however issue 1 reminds me a lot of the old UK fanzine "Tales from the Cajun Sushi Bar" with lots of retro fanfic/articles. So worth it for both issues so far. Perhaps pricey to some, but worth it to me!
