Is there a new-school equivalent of Dirty Pair?

Post by mbanu »

I mean the "We're going for it and did something but it was kind of a disaster in a non-cute way, but we had to try, these costumes are riding up, but we'll try again" type anime. Maybe I am grossly misrepresenting Dirty Pair.
mbanu: What's between Old School and New School?
runesaint: Hmmm. "Middle School", perhaps?

A fun SF show with grownups doing adventure stuff that features stand-alone stories every episode? Not that I know of. Most anime shows these days either have continuing stories, are about people who die and find themselves elves in dungeons, or star young teenagers, or some combination of the three.

There have been a number of "buddy girls" show featuring girls with guns (more than I can count), but not exactly the same formula as Dirty Pair,

Dirty Pair is incomparable.

Nobody has been able to get close to it as far as I can tell.
