Got my stuff in this morning:
The crowd production patch was something I got months ago when they were test printed, and I just put mine there to use as a comparison.

I'll scan the envelopes for both once I get the chance! if I can, I might try to make an mp3 of the karaoke tracks if anyone wants to try their hand at learning Tatakae! Otaking (or the 7 minute long Otaku Medley, if you're feeling brave! )SteveH wrote:
If you can, throw up a pic of the lyrics page for Lost Way of Otaku, on TMSD-002. That may have the 3rd and 4th verse and it might be the 4 verse Karaoke.
A Karaoke version of the Otaku Medley would be insane.

I figured he went to AC back in the day because of Gunsmith Cats being Chicago based. I know the Macross creators love to visit our Air Force bases when they are here.usamimi wrote: Sonoda was at Emerald City Comic Con, if that's what you were thinking of. Because I don't know about such things, is the ONV stitched patch I now have meant to be ironed or stitched on something? I haven't used needle & thread since college...

I believe the patch is meant to emulate the 'morale' patches as well as unit patches the U.S. military use. For best effect get either a leather 'A-2' 'bomber' jacket or a nylon 'MA-1' style flight jacket. Something along these lines would do. https://www.amazon.com/Sage-Green-Fligh ... ght+jacketlabsenpai wrote:I figured he went to AC back in the day because of Gunsmith Cats being Chicago based. To be strac you'll need to stitch a velcro patch to the jacket and patch, cut to fit the outline. Fabric side on the jacket, plastic hooks on the patch. I THINK you can have this done at those 'ball cap custom embroidery' stores in many malls. Mirrored aviator sunglasses optional.

I THINK you can do either? I can't remember. I can ask.labsenpai wrote: Because I don't know about such things, is the ONV stitched patch I now have meant to be ironed or stitched on something? I haven't used needle & thread since college...

OK, I need to know about the artbooks. Because that's the kind of thing I live for.
Reading the page, says one of the editions gives you an art box (for the BD) and a 200 page art book that slots inside, or you can trade that box and book for a larger sized art book that's 44 pages.
Is there a mis-type there or what's going on? A 44 page book seems kind of cheap ass, even if it's hardback like a children's book. A 200 page art book is much more yummy altho man, I don't know how you GET 200 pages out of the limited material of OnV.
Details, please!
And yes of course I'd buy either or both of those on their own. (I'm sure there's all manner of contractual crap why they can't/won't sell the books, even tho they'd do well with them)

It's not a misprint. The hardcover 44 page book is nice because its bigger, so you get to see all the color art book in much better detail. (For example, the new manga short Sonoda drew looks GREAT in that much bigger size.)
The 200 page book that comes with the special edition includes all the black & white setttei art, storyboards, and script pages, as well as color artwork. It's really cool, so if you want more for your money I'd go with the special edition blu-ray with book instead. (Then again, I helped edit all that art so maybe I'm biased lol)

OK so they can be ironed on, BUT it's recommended you also stitch them on as well.usamimi wrote:I THINK you can do either? I can't remember. I'd definitely sport the patch on something if I return to the con scene. After watching the remaster I have two musings: 1) If I ever get rich I'd build an Otakuland - although it would be far from the water. 2) How many lady co-workers did those Gainax guys bamboozle into doing cosplay?
