How are you storing your manga?

Post by kndy »

I know many of who read manga are more likely collectors of other things...anime, models, blu-rays/dvd's, toys, etc. But I was wondering, for your manga, how are you storing them? Or do you get rid of them, so you don't have to worry about storage issues?

I have mine in shelves 2-rows deep, and even then I'm still running out of room. I really need to get some more shelves (not just for manga, but for other books and my DVD/blu-rays as well), but I mever seem to be able to find ones I like that don't cost a small fortune.

I downsized my manga collection before moving to Japan, selling my entire collection DearS, all the Ranma manga I had, plus the first 10 or so issues of Inu Yasha. I never even got around to reading the Inu Yasha manga. I have all of my manga on shelves, with only one row on each shelf, in my bedroom. I should take pictures sometime, but my wife has a huge mess on the floor where my book shelves are. It's embarassing.

Unfortunately, I have gone beyond shelves and book shelves. So, I am resorting to my old comic boxes. Have sold a lot of my comic books (mainly the big names) but storing manga in boxes in my garage:

With long comic boxes, I can store two rows of manga...

But probably will need to redo everything because books are now mixed up in many boxes and can't find anything...lol...

I have mine two-rows deep as well, mostly mixed in with my normal books in my "library" (converted garage) and my to-reads and backlog in my bedroom. I do cull them occasionally for Bookoff, but I think I've run out of things to cull.

I've been using a basic Ikea bookshelf to store my manga, but it's starting to pile in a few places, and with my Ranma collection growing, I can foresee myself getting a whole bookshelf just for Ranma stuff. XD;
