I'm not disagreeing with your post, but I'd also like to point out that the said can be said about artwork aimed at straight women and homosexual men. My favorite shoujo/josei mangaka is a woman by the name of Aya Shouoto. Shouoto's men just ooze sexuality - A quick Google search will yield many delicious selections from "Kiss of the Rose Princess" and "The Demon Prince of Momochi House". How realistic are these men? The majority of men on this planet could never pass for any of them, even with all the make-up, cosmetic surgery and fitness regimens combined. Same goes with yaoi mangaka like Ayano Yamane or bara mangaka like Sakira. Physically (and to a certain extent, I'd argue personality-wise), none of these men are realistically portrayed, but, as with men finding 13 year old girls attractive because that's how they portrayed in manga/anime, women and homosexual men often pursue these unrealistic expectations when looking for a man. And while I'd like to say that sane adult women can differentiate between the fantasy portrayed in the media and real life, I know plenty of adult women who are sucked in by the allure of the fantasy to the point that that's the only thing that they'll accept in a potential partner.

Dkop I watched the ENTIRE video and plan on watching it again. I see you understand; and l like it.

Akage I did forget that not all art is aimed for straight men. Then that odd anorexic look makes a little more sense. However, I still do not care for that super slim physique look.

"lolicon" is kind of an 80s thing, isn't it? I mean, there's adult fetish material for it, just like there is for everything else, but in terms of anime being filled with sexualized pre-teens, that's been going on for a while. I don't think there's any more of it now than there was in the past, in other words. Certainly Hideo Azuma's career hasn't been skyrocketing lately.

Dkop I will have to put up some of my anime themed cello pieces. I have been working on Utena's song the Sunlit Garden. I hope it it legal because I do not have a cello version of the song.

It appears the Beeb has decided to weigh in on the issue -

I thought the interview portion with the creator of "Kaze to Kino Uta", Keiko Takemiya, was pretty interesting. You hardly hear anything from artists from the 1970s anymore, let alone see their artwork. It was also nice to see this issue attacked from the shouta/BL perspective, instead of the lolicon side which seems to bother people most.

I highly disagree with this quote from the article though -
Ms Boer-Buquicchio ... points out that "any pornographic representation of a child," real or not, "constitutes child pornography".
No. A drawn image does not have feelings. It can not be victimized because it is not alive. I also see nothing wrong in drawn images catering to some people's fetishes and would rather they use drawn images an outlet instead of searching for the real thing.
