Winckler Production's Minky Momo movie now available

Post by usamimi »

So imagine my surprise the other day that William Winckler Productions (the people that gave us that English dubbed Tekkaman movie in the past) announced that they're doing dubbed Minky Momo compilation movies--and that they've already finished the first one and it's up for purchase on Amazon digitally: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00U6O ... BA5SYSLV53

Now, in the past, they were also supposed to dub a whole bunch of Toei-series compilation movies, but I only ever heard of a handful of them actually getting made, and then they were never really officially released in America? So this struck me as a little odd. I know Dave Merrill mentioned some of this on Twitter, but I figured I'd throw it up here to see what y'all think, and if anyone else had more info about Winckler-made stuff. I'm tempted to buy this next time I get some Amazon credit just to see how bad it probably is...

I can confirm seeing the Gaiking and Starzinger compilation movies in stores. I might have seen Danguard Ace too, but less than the other two. They were distributed by Shout! Factory.

I did not buy them. They seem to have their fans though. Mostly people who do not want to sit through all the fillers of the original series.

Ah, you're right--same guys! I still haven't seen those, but I heard they weren't bad. (For their time, anyway.)
